Mechanism of Action & Benefits

• Produces pediocin-class bacteriocins (such as pediocin PA-1), small heat-stable cationic peptides that disrupt the cell membranes of pathogens such as Listeria monocytogenes and enterotoxigenic E. coli, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity
• Colonizes and regulates the gut microbiota, competitively excluding pathogens and increasing populations of Lactobacillus and short-chain-fatty-acid-producing bacteria
• Poultry: improves feed conversion, egg weight, eggshell thickness/strength, and tibia strength, and increases jejunal villus-to-crypt ratio and secretory IgA levels
• Aquaculture (shrimp, tilapia): improves growth performance, feed efficiency, and antioxidant status, supports disease resistance, and improves water quality by lowering ammonia nitrogen
• Swine: co-fermentation with Lactobacillus plantarum improves growth performance and gut microbiota balance in nursery pigs
• Companion animals: increases antioxidant capacity (superoxide dismutase, catalase) and lowers malondialdehyde levels, increases secretory IgA/IgG and beneficial short-chain-fatty-acid-producing bacteria, and improves fecal quality

Recommended Dosage

Recommended minimum inclusion: 0.1–2×10⁸ CFU per kg body weight, adjusted by target species. For feed inclusion, calculate from body weight and target intake.
